I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart….
Do you remember singing this song in Sunday School?
Singing this song is my earliest memory of worshipping Jesus.
What a simple truth! Jesus is in my heart. He’ll never leave me. And because he is in my heart, I’m happy.
Proverbs 4:23 says
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.“
And Matthew 6:21 says
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“
My heart is that we would live out of an overflow of what’s in our hearts. At the very center, is Jesus.
Discipleship is my passion: in my house with my girls, with other women and mamas, and to women on the college campus. I desire for others to know Jesus better. I’m grateful for the model set by Jesus of discipling: being intentional to teach and grow others. Discipleship is also about life on life: growing in all areas as women, wives, mothers, homemakers, and friends.
My prayer for “Down in my Heart” is that it would serve you as it nurtures, encourages, and equips you as a woman, wife, and mother, all while fixing our hearts on Jesus.
